Hollow Form - 501

Hollow Form - 501

The woods used on this piece are Mexican Cocobolo and Macassar Ebony. The size is 3" dia x 7" tall. The finial and collar are one piece and removable. The piece was finished without any oil. Simply hand rubbed with 0000 steel wool after final sanding and buffed without any wax.
Great form, I like the way the curves in the finial go with the vessel. Has a nice organic feel to the shape

Doug and Ed, Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I appreciate your thoughts.

Doug, I use a no glare matte vinyl graduated background. Can be purchased at the following; http://www.phototechinc.com/graduate.htm or http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=NavBar&A=search&Q=&ci=2407
I sure you can find them elsewhere as well. The vinyl ones can be washed with soap and water but can scratch easily.

I really like the shape on this one too, Ed. Do you use a skew or spindle gouge? It is pretty neat when you can get such a lustrous finish right off the lathe!

Excellent job! Photo excellent too. Would like to see you take more risk with the finial. Like it loads
