Jagged segmented maple platter with rosewood center and aluminum dust ring

Originally I just wanted the randomly cut maple segments to form a normal smooth rim, but the jagged edge caught my attention and I couldnt make myself cutting if off. The aluminum dist ring was an afterthought when the rosewood center warped a little and caused a gap.

do not know enough about segmented pieces, but this is pleasing to my eye, very nice

what is the size?

Charlie,

Yeah, I don't know much about segmenting either, that's why this style worked for me! I just set an unknown angle on the miter and kept flipping the maple board and chopping different sizes of blocks. It's about 14 inches across, 2 inches deep. Thanks for looking, I'll post a few other similar style platters another time.
