“KINDA CUBED” This was really FUN. How to cheer-up the pin-stripe-up-tight-straight-grain of Douglas Fir? What evolved was the following with a seven-inch cube.

1 - Turn an approximate cube on three nearly mutually perpendicular axes between opposite faces of the cube to render each of the six faces of large curvature. This is equivalent to therming, but much easier. I decided to make each face concave since I couldn’t find a mixture of convex and concave curvatures that I thought was very pretty.
