HI all
This piece is following on with a series that I am doing based on Japanese work.
The philosophy behind this piece is taken from several areas, one being everything is impermanent, this being shown in the aged metal look of the main for, lid and finial.
The second part is that of Wabi Sabi , being perfection in imperfection. This replicated in the twig that has been used for the finial. This has also been aged to tie in with the rest.
It is ash, textured and stained, then verdigris wax added. The lid and twig are covered din copper leaf and aged with a fluid.
The piece measures 150mm dia x 150 mm high and is sat on a slate plinth.
Comments welcome, you may have seen this piece in other forums.
