Maple hollow form

This is an example of a technique taught by Clay Foster. Turned round then turned off center, mounted in a chuck and hollowed. I then added carvings, texture with a needle scaler and finish.
I agree with you Odie - it does look like a stone with scratched in patterns. I could imagine this being found in a dig.
