14" diameter maple. Band is sand carved and painters.
Band is sand carved and painters ........what does that mean????

Beautiful. When you sand blast what do you use as the resist? Do you keep the resist for painting and how do you remove the resist at the end?

@Ray Hari the resist I use is Anchor BlastLite #T226 from UScutter.com.
It is a rubbery material with PSA backing. It works terrific on wood - sticks, stretches, compresses. I goes on curves really well.

I peel it off when done using it. I often leave some adhesive residue which will come off with naphtha as a last resort. I usually just dab it with a scrap of the resist or rub it with my thumb. Or if I mutter enough my better half will sometimes remove the resist while I take on another project.
