Small Natural Edge Milo bowl
Hi Gary,
Milo (pronounced me-low) is a wood from Hawaii. It was brought by the original settlers from Polynesia. I am not sure what it called there. It is an evergreen and is not real plentiful these days since it only grows by the sea shore. My understanding the Hawaiians used it to make canoe paddles. The colors can vary into reds as well as the brown in heart wood.

Gary,
It turns well. The only thing you need to be careful of is friction. It can crack from heat when it gets thin. Polishes up very nicely. Also has a faint pleasant smell when you are working it.
Dale
