I received this split, weathered, spalted crotch from a friend a few weeks ago, and decided to see what was inside it. Glad I did. It was supposed to be persimmon, but it sure wasn't very hard. I told my friend that Persimmon was a lot harder than this stuff. Then he said, "If it's not Persimmon then it's that Florida Mahogany you weren't supposed to get!" Oh well... too late now eh?
