Ooppss

Ooppss resulted from a cored set of Hackberry bowls which have been drying on a shelf since 2007. They seemed to be fully dry and had quite a bit of movement through the 5 years of curing. The design opportunity arose from being too aggressive on the outside bowl which resulted in a parting of the ways for the upper rim portion of the bowl. After turning the upper portion of the bowl away, it fit perfectly as a lid or as a base platter as you can see. So, a flower bud finial was created which would stand on the 3 petals when used as a base. This project will be donated to the empty bowls in Houston this coming weekend. The nested set size is 6 diameter by 4 high and finished with buffed Waterlox.
