Pierced Cherry Platter

A small platter turned from Cherry. A bit over 4 inches in diameter and stands about an inch and a quarter tall to the rim. Pierced with a dental drill and finished with a wipe on poly.
Nice. But the maple leaves are messing with my mind.

OTOH, is that a maple pedestal underneath?

Joe, Not sure I understand about the maple leaves. Needed some kind of a pattern to carve. Maple leaves seemed like a good thing. No, the entire piece including pedestal is one piece and is Cherry.
