Beautiful piece. Excellent shape and the surface design and implementation is excellent. May I ask what the bottom texture is. Appears to be string imbedded in black epoxy but then I'm just taking a wild guess.

The outside was covered with a product called Paverpol over string fabric. www.paverpol.com It is a textile hardener.
