Radiolarian VII

My latest turning. I am revisiting the series based on microscopic plankton skeletons. This piece is inspired by a scanning electron micrograph of a radiolarian skeleton (made of glass) that is about 180 million years old. Turned and carved from Swamp Totora sent to me by a turner in New Zealand. 5.25" x 2.25"
