Red Oak Bowl
Jeff Jilg

Red Oak Bowl

11" x 4" finished with tung oil.

This is from a neighbor's house, and the tree was diseased. This piece of wood has some amazing grain features. The outside rim is textured with a hacksaw blade. Theresa won't let this one out of the house.
OAK! You? Still negotiating with my hauler for more, myself. He doesn't go far enough to get it most of the time. Doesn't grow here. Maybe another spoon for his wife will do it.

I know, I know.... This was from a batch that I acquired before all the cussing started. Some of the roughouts from that batch have warped so badly they should be in StarTrek.
