Rocket Box

I have made 3 or 4 of these concept boxes, and the original concept was a fish. Everyone I showed them to would compliment me on my "rocket", so I decided that I couldn't beat them so I would join them...

The box is cherry and ebony, and the Americana theme was in honor of the last Shuttle Mission. The piece was designed with a 50's campy - sort of Buck Rodgers vision, and aged to simulate a "throw back object" to a time when a rocket launch would actually stop everything and Americans would watch. We are too jaded today, and have lost a lot of our wonder about space, and the incredible feat of engineering it takes to put an astronaut into orbit.

Anyhow, it's a rocket. And a box. Comments welcome.
very nice fish
