Seashell Finial Box

Seashell Finial Box

As a brand new turner, I completed this box with the generous help of Matthew Hill
Very nice work for any skill level!
Richard Raffan and other mentors of box turning suggest making the joint between lid and base prominent, rather than trying to minimize it's appearance. Reason being that most boxes will warp a little, and that would be less obvious if one or both of the edges were embellished with something like a small bead, a wire burning, or a beveled corner. Just a thought to consider for future boxes, and hope to see more!
