This was also at the IG in St. Paul. Jane Mason really liked this piece, wanted it for the critique, but SF8 prevailed in the voting, but she did mention it during the critique, to which I am honored. The shell is based on a hard shell clam fragment from my favorite local gathering beach at Matanzas Inlet, just below St. Augustine, Fl. It is slightly stylized this time, as I wanted to emulate the beautiful custom radiator caps of the 1930's by such makers as Lalique, and the base once again gives a nod to the car fenders of the same era.
As always, C&C's are most welcome.
