Silly flowers

These are just silly flowers turned from small limbs of hybrid poplar and I added a little color inside. They are quick to make, cheap to buy and sell really fast!
Hal, they are quite simple. Use a green limb 1 1/2" - 3" diam. and 10" +/- long, mounted between centers. Shape the flower end, keep cutting into the center, leaving the wood curls intact until you have the shape you like and a very thin "flower". Then just keep cutting back toward the headstock, making the stem thinner as you go. You need the thickness of the limb for support so shape small sections at a time. When you have the stem length you like, cut down the stem again leaving the wood curls attached. I cut the base with a bandsaw rather than parting off.

Good luck and post a picture when you're done.
