Silver Maple Vessel 5082

This is a silver maple hollow form which was dyed with aniline dyes and then judiciously sanded. It measures 6 1/2 inches in diameter by 12 3/8 inches tall.
I (and I think a lot of other visitors to this site) learned the word "chatoyance" from one of the displaying artists the other day. It's a very useful word for woodworkers, especially turners. I love this piece. Such chatoyance!
