Spalted Yellow Birch

This is a photo of a spalted yellow birch bowl I just delivered. It was 13
Nice, George. Must have been one heckuva big tree, because I don't see any heartwood on one end, and only a suggestion on the other. Now turn the rim out not in for a different effect.
 
Thanks Michael, this came out of that big stump I forwarded out of the woods three years ago. I got some nice bowl and platter blanks out of it. I have to turn the next few from this blank, one larger for a customer with the saame profile. The one this was cored from should make a nice 16"-17".
 
George, I commented on this once before and I'd just like to say that I like the rim turned in rather than out.
