"Standing Garde"

A redux of a piece I made awhile back. I essentially liked the vessel (although IMO it needed better coloring) but the strong but skinny steel legs made it look like the hippo ballerinas in Fantasia. Worth saving I thought and we both like this better. Birch, Black Walnut and some turned steel and pewter details.
21" x 8". A nice piece on a quiet pedestal to add some darkly elegant presence to that empty corner.....

That is an interesting stand Pat! I like it, the textured rosette areas and the tooled smooth areas. There’s alot going on in this piece!
