Still Groovy (After all these years)

Reclaimed wood, melaleuca tube form, 4" x 2 1/8" inside diameter, textured with the Sorby and stainless steel wire brushes, microwaved for a total of 5 minutes each, Modern Masters iron oxide and copper oxide patinas, no other finish.

The iron oxide piece looks and feels like I plucked it out of a junk yard or a barrel full of old rain water...very textural, and the colors are amazing. The copper oxide piece has hints of the copper showing through in spots, which don't translate well in the photo.

This image made the cover today on World of Woodturners! Needless to say, I'm very honored.
