"The Black Hole"

Maple and sandstone 32" high
Photo: Arlan Heiser
This piece was turned on 2 axis. Made from a piece of maple found by the guy who founded the first nature conservancy in the world back in the 60s. He liked the fact of taking dead rotting pieces of wood and making art from them...The spirals were done on my setup.
Hi

Nice work

An interesting piece. I like the texturing bringing the eye into the hole and the fact that you have off set the sculpture on the base so it is not central.

Great piece.
