The Tear

This Basswood form was weeks in the making. When I finish turned the main body, I really liked the organic form and decided it deserved to be more than just another vase. I envisioned the tear drop form but only had green Basswood to work with for the lid. A couple of weeks later, I had learned the lesson that Basswood doesnt warp as much as it shrinks while drying.

Basswood, 11 high x 5 diameter x 1/8 thick. Dyed blue with TransTint and given multiple coats of gloss wipe-on poly to get that wet-like and highly reflective surface.

As always, your comments, opinions and critiques are welcomed!

Thanks for looking!
Steve, well done!

Kurt - this is quite the surprise! Thank you so very much for the honor! It is a thrill to get this kind of recognition!
