Thinking Outside The Box

These tall boxes (tallest 8.5"hx3"w) were turned and then pyrographically branded. Silver-leaf was applied and then patinated.
-e- these are really cool. What kind of finish to put over the metal leaf? I have been interested experimenting with metal leaf.

hi paul .. .thanks for your comments.

i use the ronan Acrylic Clear Overcoat over the silver-leaf with little tarnishing. some water white lacquers will work better on different metals. gold, of course, will not tarnish

there is also some spray topcoats espcially used for leafing -- check out misterart.com under the gold leaf category or sign paint suppliers for some of what's available.
