Two 22 step spirals on 16 offcenters

Spirals are cut from laminated blanks made up of center birdseye maple on both then the left one 2 morado and 2 tulipwood. on the right the tulip and morado position reversed. As a 5 and 3/8 long by 3 and 7/8" diameter blank to start turning the steps.
The steps are 2 and 3/16" diameter by a 1/4" high 22 of them on 16 separate offcenters in the circle. The steps are not glued They are turned from the blank so 2 single pieces
Jeff, your mind is not spinning the way mine is. These are very creative pieces. You say the steps are not glued. Does that mean if you want to rearrange them you could?

Hello Hal.
No They are not rearrangeable Each spiral staircase is a single piece, The steps are turned on each ones particular offset but from that original turned blank . So not glued but not moveable. If your at Hartford I look forward to meeting you And you will see some of these pieces as I will be donating one for the auction. Not specifically one of these but a spiral similar to these.
Many thanks for your comments and questions . Much appreciated. Best from Jeff.

Ah, ha. Now I get it. Do you use some sort of jig? I can imagine how fragile these could be while turning. Very interesting indeed.
