I'm assuming those "fingers" on the far side are bark......right.

If so, it's a real accomplishment to not break them off.....so delicate!

I'm not sure I'm seeing how it was made correctly, or not......what is it that makes up the stem? Is that rotted heartwood?

I'll bet I'm not the only one who is puzzled by this piece......!

Regardless, it does look like it presented some difficulty to turn!
