Walnut Vessel

I was inspired by the works of Avelino Samuel when I created this piece a year ago this month. Avelino visited our Richmond Woodturners club after the Raleigh AAW Symposium and I was fortunate to be one of the club members that was able to spend the day with him learning about his design and carving techniques. I decided to add a little interest by creating an off center hole so when the ring was installed the hole is offset from the centerline. The wood is black walnut with an African blackwood ring and it is finished with wipe on poly. It is 5” in diameter and 6 1/2” long.
Great! I would love to see another pic in maybe another orientation. Does it sit upright on the small display? Fantastic piece.
