Wandering Vines

I recently spotted a pottery piece that attracted my attention because it incorporated a similar handle idea that I had used in the past. The original was a plain utility piece, but the form looked interesting so I decided to see what I could do to push the design idea a bit. I used fiddle back maple and several layers of TransTint to add the color. The vines were done with a pyrography pen, and the field was stippled around the vines. The bar handle was hand carved. The piece is 5” in diameter.
Really enjoy everything about this piece Bill. Form is great and love the coloring and detail on the texturing. Handle is awesome too. Hope someday I can do something similar. Thanks for sharing
