Wood and glass top view

I have been trying to find ways to collaborate with my wife. She works in glass. This piece was enabled by the Jeff Pratt ball in ball video. It’s a first try. I’m looking for constructive criticism, hoping if I continue in this direction it will be worthwhile.
That's an attractive design! My only thought is to change the mounting so you can see more of the glass from the side. From the picture it appears you have to be looking down at a fairly vertical angle to see it.
