    lancewood with brass insert to two side as it opened, it has sat on the shelf for several years to see it was going to move further, it barely moved. 8x4 oiled will polish when the oil sets. A dense wood it weighs in at 2lbs with a wall thickness of around 1/2 for the spirals

    This one is a bit different as I have no idea of the species, it was dropped by a friend as part of a roadside find by him. Odd shaped, part burl, fire damaged, a couple of voids and fragile. 15cm x 8.5cm oiled.
