A friend gave me a limb that she identified as sycamore. The bark looked like sycamore, but the turned piece makes me wonder if it wasn't a differenct species. The limb was relatively small suggesting relatively young section of the tree.
The piece was finished with Waterlox and Arborwax...
Living with grape vines all around has influenced my art (and drinking preference). This sycamore bowl is 16" x 6". The images are burned in and color-blended with alcohol dyes.
12" x 4" Spalted Sycamore bowl cut into chip'n'dip style. Had this wood for about 7 years and it was hard as stone. One of Theresa's favorite pieces.
