I finished turning a beech bowl only to discover difuse black streaks, bloches and some general grayness. The black was barely visible until I oiled the surface. It really detracted from the clarity and crispness of the beech. Does anyone have a suggestion for getting rid of the black or a black finish that will hide the problem. I did try household bleach without favorable results.
