It is very colorful wood. I think you'll like turning it; dense enough to polish up beautifully; a bit squirrely to dry. I have a larger piece partially turned that's developing a crack I haven't decided what to do with yet... undercut it or add a bowtie to hold it together. It's packed in chips to slow it down, and, like many, my shop has been too cold to work in for a few months!
