A small hint for those making the two-piece hollow forms per Brian McEvoy’s article in the Journal: After hollowing and sanding the top half (step 22), and before removing from the chuck, re-check the flatness of the glue joint surface. If you are practicing with pine, the piece may have changed shape during hollowing and sanding, and the glue joint surface will need to be turned flat and sanded again. Probably not a problem with kiln dried hardwood.
