Inspired by the recent thread about Ultraquiet Compressors (I have one and it is really quiet) I recently got a really quiet 12 gallon shop vac. It is yellow and black made by <rhymes with TheFault> model DXV12P-QT. The 'QT' stands for quiet and has 'StealthSonic' printed on top near the handle so choose wisely. It's advertised at 65dB and is so much quieter than my 2 other vacs. I measured 70db at about 2' away. The only downside is it is so quiet I can now hear the noises from the dust cyclone and hoses.
