I just had a major catch while turning my first vase (would have been 6" h x 4.5" w) and it powered down. Now it won't start back up. I tried the reset button, checked the gfci, and the reset button is in the up position and won't go down. Have I killed my lathe?
Allen, try pulling the plug from the outlet. Wait a while (at least a minute or longer) ... then plug it back in and start your lathe. That has worked in the past for me .... kind of like what I have to do on my computer sometimes.
