Hi Jim - The veneer is 0.5mm thick (about 1/48”). I get my dyed veneers from B&B Rare Woods (https://www.dyed-veneer.com/Default.asp).

This has a nice clean look to it John, nicely done. Simple and elegant. It looks like your alignment between the 2 halves drifted off - something to watch out for on the next one. You could straighten up the photo too - easily done when you crop the photo.
