Birdie on the Fence

8 3/4" dia. Selepe patter carved painted and woodburning.
Great plate Linda. I really enjoy your bird figures. How did you get the bird to extend beyond the plate's surface?

Brian, the birdie is carved. I removed the amount it is proud and blend in with the remaining surface.

Nice technique Linda. It looks like the bird was carved on the bowl's surface and then the surface was turned (but that is not possible). Always fun to find out how the impossible is done!
