Box Elder Burl Bowl

Box Elder Burl Bowl

This is a thick-walled bowl that features a small cluster of dormant buds on one side. The turned surfaces are finished with wipe-on poly, the natural surfaces are unfinished. About 9 inches diameter.
Kevin, I love the way you retained and highlighted the unique burl features. Have you ever considered a light coat of oil on the burl surface to make it 'pop'? The oil finish will darken the bare surface some but will not make it shiny unless you polish it. I use Watco oil for most of my work.
