Brazilian Kingwood Round Bottom Box

Brazilian Kingwood Round Bottom Box

After taking a small break from boxes, here is another one of my signature round bottom styles! This time I am using a nicely colored piece of Brazilian Kingwood (Dalbergia cearensis), which is a wood I have not used in awhile. I can't always give you guys new woods to feast on, but I can rotate the species to keep things interesting! This box has a true round bottom, chamfered rim and a domed lid. Turned, hollowed and finished with gloss lacquer. Size is 1 7/8" tall x 1 7/8" diameter. The grain on this box was a little curvy, so the match is not perfect, but I still think it turned out well!
