Buckeye Burl

It's been awhile since I've done a piece with my Explanation Point finial and decided to try one incorporating the design in a pedestal. This piece measures 3-1/2" dia. x 7-1/2" tall. The finial and pedestal are blackwood with a buckeye top on the finial and buckeye insert on the pedestal. Finished with brush on lacqure and buffed.
Keith,
I definitely think the piece is great, but I believe you could get more "Pop" from a lighter background. This background has worked great on some of your earlier posts, but I think it's a little dark for this one. (I don't know why I'm saying this, I'm absolutely useless with a camera.)
