Buckled Cherrie black

Fun to turn cross grain
Very Un-"Terry" like! Gorgeous chunk of wood. I love the organic shape.
I enjoy turning green wood and letting it do whatever it wants. I'm just stumbling on how to complete a bottom of a warped, thin bowl. I can't apply a lot of force and can't find a secure way of getting it on the lathe.

Carve 3 feet ,it doesn't mater what shape it dries to .Or turn another bowl shape that the thin bowl will fit over .stick on some soft foam to the waste bowl .turn a piece of timber that fits over you live centre ,glue a piece of leather on the flat end .bring up to the piece and it will be enough to support the work .
Email me if youd like some pictures og the process

I went the Terry's 3 feet route. I tried numerous methods of mounting but it had warped so much that I couldn't put a tool to it. And, I think the piece sold already ;-). I'll post pix when done.
