California buckeye hollow form

California buckeye hollow form

4” x 3”, two coats of sanding sealer and buffed to a semi-gloss

First time working with California buckeye. A bit grainier than most woods, but I found it to be very easy to turn and sand. Love how light it is; with walls at about 1/8”, this piece weighs in at just over one ounce. Didn’t want the finish to overwhelm the wood itself, so went with a more subdued gloss than my usual.
