Chinese Elm Hollow Form

Chinese Elm Hollow Form

This was the 4th HF turned from the17 bowl blank intended for coring. The checking had already developed quite deeply, precluding coring bowls from it. The blank was cut into quadrants and a natural edge hollow form turned from each. This HF is 5 x 4 and 3/16 thick. The bottom is a little thicker for stability. I admit to a little Photoshop work to emphasize the grain and figure. This is the reason it was photographed separately.
