Pecan Tall Vase

Pecan Tall Vase

This is a Pecan vase I made for my sister while she's down in NC visiting me from NJ. I had a lot of fun explaining how things work around the lathe and she wanted a light color vase for her bedroom. No finish and no embellishments, just shape. So, here is her new vase. She's happy, and I enjoyed making it for her. It's 15" tall and Beall buffed. No finish. Thanks for looking and all comments welcome, Don L.
George that is a very nice piece. I'm sure sister loved it, that pecan is beautiful.

I really like the rectangular top/neck detail. Was this drilled from both ends like your cedar? If not, how the heck did you hollow it?

Hi Norm! I had to make this one in a hurry, so I just drilled it out as far as my longest drill bit could make it. My sister said that would be fine so that's how it was done.
Thanks for asking,
Don L.
