10H x 8.5W x 2D, maple, turned, carved, textured. Base is poplar, paint, brass rod. This is an abstract conceptualization of a sea scallop shell fragment found at Matanzas Inlet, just south of St. Augustine, Fl. This stand is more organic in nature, and based on an ocean wave curling at the shoreline. I have oriented the piece in-line with the stand, as opposed to being at right-angles as in my previous pieces.
