Shield Series Wall Hanging

This is a turning that I just completed today. It is another wall hanging in my shield series. Since this one looks like it has been in battle with some unknown forces, I have titled it, "Yea Though I Walk Through the Valley of the Shadow of Death." The wood was part of a big slab of Big Leaf Maple burl and measures 14 3/4"W x 19"H x 1 3/4"T. The black ring has been stippled in using pyrography. It has been dipped in a blend of oils and Beall buffed.
