Swirl Hand Carved Bowl

Maple, 7x2.5 inches, hand carved, Polymerized Tung oil finish
It looks like you carved it with a traditional, unpowered carving tool. I much prefer that look over the machined carving. Love the resulting texture. Brings great interest to otherwise boring wood. Nice piece.

Thank you Tom! Yes, I am enjoying the quiet process of carving by hand, one stroke at a time. I use a Flexcut 1/4" 70 degree V-Tool. It is time consuming but fun.

Yes Russ, it does feel like a journey, and a fun one at that! It has been a while since I set off down a completely unfamiliar road. Thanks for noticing and commenting :)
