Up North

"Up North" refers to the northern part of Michigan's lower peninsula. Some say "up north" is anything north of Grand Rapids, while others claim it starts at Clare or Cadillac. In any case, going Up North always guarantees a great experience. Compass Rose made from Walnut and Maple and inlaid into a Michigan cherry base.

Cherry, Walnut, Maple, Avodire 8" Diameter, 5.5" H. Finished with Yorkshire Grit and Carnauba wax. Compass rose inlaid on base.

Everybody knows that Up North starts at West Branch (if you go up 75)! ;)
Clare works if you take 127 though.

Nicely done. I really like it when a segmented feature ring is done in a crisp, precise manner and doesn’t overwhelm the piece.
I totally agree. Every seam looks clean and tight, and even your choice of woods work well together. Outstanding.

Great bowl Paul! I love your segment count on this beauty, it just feels right! The feature ring and placement are simply outstanding. Excellent piece Paul!
