What TPI thread is that and do you have any trouble threading walnut?

The thread is 8TPI by about 3" diameter.
Walnut is not a problem other then my hand made bit does not have any relief to it and that may be causing some chipping of the point of the thread.

I have a LaBlond metal lathe, which can be set as coarse as 4TPI and I have an adaptor for the headstock spindle to convert to 1 1/4-8 thread so I can accurately mount my wood turning chucks. The cross slide I mount a trim router with a two flute carbide bit and I can then cut just about any thread pitch I can think of except metric. I would post a picture but they are all on my hard drive and this requires a url.
